Groundwater after heavy rain, exterior drainage that sends water the wrong way, and bare soil giving off moisture all add up to a wet crawl space. Waterproofing means collecting and redirecting the water that enters, then covering the ground so it can't keep wicking moisture upward.
It's a two-part job: move the water that's already getting in, and cut off the steady supply rising out of the dirt.
